Week Two - Kicking Off Summer: Friends, Flowers, and a Twist of Fate
Have you ever truly been in the moment? This week, someone asked me, "What's on your mind? You're really quiet." Honestly, I was just fully present, listening to the conversation. I can't remember the last time that happened. Usually, my mind is racing with a million thoughts, but lately, I'm just loving being in the moment—whether it's having dinner, taking a walk, or chatting with friends.
This week was extra special, thanks to the gorgeous flowers I got from a former employee and friend. Such a sweet gesture!
I finally treated myself to a long-overdue spa treatment. There's nothing like a bit of self-care to feel refreshed. On a few evenings, I found myself on the patio, enjoying the twilight and outdoor candles while tuning into David Chang Live. I love his show!
We also celebrated the end of my daughter’s first full year of school. It was a big milestone and brought up all sorts of emotions. She's growing up so fast i'm so glad I get to spend the summer with her before the start of the new school year.
The week was filled with amazing time spent with friends—a perfect way to kick off summer, right? I ended up missing the last step while bringing down the very full laundry basket and broke two bones in my foot. Now I’m hobbling around in a cast on crutches… Euh, i'll get through this... Despite that little hiccup, the week was still full of fun and memorable moments.
This week's tune: Bob Marley - Three Little Birds
Books i've read this week (or finally finished): The Richest Man in Babylon - George Clason. Why? Elon Musk referenced it in his book so i had downloaded it months ago and finally finished it today.
Career Reflections: Independent consultant? Business Owner? Zoo Keeper? Only time will tell where this period takes me.
Happy Canada Day! As the week wraps up, I want to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day! It’s a time to celebrate our beautiful country and the amazing people who make it special (you!). Whether you're enjoying festivities or simply relaxing, I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
Deep breath in, deep breath out, Namaste 🧘♀️
BTW - I plan to publish each previous week's adventures on Sundays. Feel free to write to me and share your own thoughts and experiences as well.
