Week Seven: The Quiet Week
"Eliminate the fear, anger, upsetment, the envy, the jealousy that runs through your veins. Once you realize that nobody cares about your accomplishments or dedication because they're worried about their own things/problems, and that "THEY" don't give a "F*#k"... YOUR LIFE GETS BETTER! Just live your life and ENJOY IT!"* — @Gary Vaynerchuk
Has everyone gone silent this week, or is it just me? Cottage days with family at the end of the week meant no phones, no distractions! It’s been a peaceful retreat from the usual hustle and bustle.
Mindset Matters
Last week, I managed to revive an old habit with sheer willpower and a strong mindset. Mindset is everything, really. Enjoying the moment is something we often hear about, but unless there is no background noise, it is truly hard to do. Even if I quit my job at the start of the summer to reflect and refresh, it isn’t that easy.
Fracturing my foot on the first day of summer meant rethinking what my time with my daughter would look like. My original goals completely changed due to the lack of physical movement, so I’ve had to pivot. Oh, and did I ever! I see the surgeon next week and can’t wait to find out how much longer I have to fully recover. I’d love to hit my 100KM of running in August and shake off July! But boy, have I made significant personal growth during this time…
Personal Growth and Learning
The last two books I read really resonated with me, and I can’t believe I hadn’t gotten around to reading them sooner. This past week, I’ve focused more on training, personal development, and other learning.
Looking Ahead
I’ve started thinking about what my new adventures will be come the fall, and I have many different avenues to explore. The good thing is, I finally have time to think and prepare without stress or sleepless nights.
Life is pretty good!
This Week's Tune
P.MO - "Life is Good" has been on repeat. It's the perfect soundtrack for this reflective and rejuvenating week.
Books I've Read This Week
Started one but haven't gotten a chance to complete it because I've focused on research and learning. Diving into "patenting" and understanding the steps from idea to execution in different industries has been incredibly enlightening. I'm eager to get back to my book soon!.
Career Reflection: Getting There!
Woke up in the middle of the night with brilliant ideas (thanks to my 2-5 AM thoughts) and started coming up with ideas on what the future holds for JT. Exciting times ahead!
