WEEK Nine-Fourteen: AI Summer: Sun, Fun, and Machine Learning
Woohoo! The minute my surgeon gave me the green light to officially ditch the aircast and walk normally, I disappeared off the radar. But, I’m back with an update 😄 First, let’s kick off with a joke:
Why did the blogger take a break in the summer? Because they wanted to soak up the sun, not just the likes! Ha!
AI Adventures: Yes, I got that joke from ChatGPT, of course! It also created the image above btw.
Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing have been the pillars of my summer growth. Remember not too long ago when everyone was buzzing about AI, whether it was a professional chat or casual hangout, the common question was, “Are you on AI? You gotta get on AI!” So, we all hopped on the AI train, looked around, and said, “Okay, I’m on it... Now what?”
Well, let me tell you, I dove deep. I’ve been devouring research, attending workshops around ML, LLMs and NLP, and guess what? I fell in love. The tech, the potential—it’s thrilling! I even registered for a course at MIT focusing on the Business Implications of AI, and absolutely loving it so far.
Holiday Highlights: This summer was also about reconnecting. We've made trips to visit friends and family in both Montreal and Ottawa, where my niece just started her journey at the University of Ottawa (UoO go Gee-Gees!). Plus, my dear friend from Ireland visited, and we took a memorable road trip to Stratford, Ontario. Yes, the home of Justin Bieber, ladies and gents! Stratford is a charming theatre town, perfect for dragon boating and indulging in the arts not too far from Toronto.
Health & Fitness: Back on my power walks 😃 And even better, I joined the F45 community—talk about intensity! It’s been incredible getting back to that fitness grind after being on the sidelines.
Other Fun Adventures: I’ve also met some fascinating people over the last few weeks, kayaked in the beautiful Scarborough Bluffs scene on Lake Ontario, and even did a super fun scavenger hunt at Neyagawa Park. Let’s just say summer has been packed with fun.
Back to school: This summer was incredible. Overflowing with happiness, personal growth, and unforgettable memories. The return to school was also a blast this time, without the usual mad rush and stress. I had the time to fully prepare for her, free from distractions. And it wasn’t just back to school for her either, it’s back to school for me too, and these past few weeks of class have been nothing short of fascinating.
