Week Four - Time Flies

Why does four weeks sound so long yet feels like I blinked at week one and here I am? Jeez, I’m going to cry at week 12 for sure!

My foot is healing quite nicely and quickly - I’ll be running again in no time. It’s amazing how the body can recover with a bit of rest and proper care. I can’t wait to slip on my runners and go for a run/walk outdoors with a friend, catching up and hearing about all the stories I’ve missed.

In other news, I finally descaled my Nespresso machine! It’s funny how something so simple can turn into a mini-adventure. Why has it become so complicated to figure out these new machines? Like, what happened to the good old days where you’d insert a blank pod and press the button? Now there’s all kinds of maneuvers to do with no instructions. After several YouTube videos trying to find the right steps for the exact model and brand I have, I figured it out. Jeez… it felt like one of those things where you tap on your head and rub your tummy counterclockwise at the same time.

My highlight this was playing cards with my daughter. It's been years since I last played any card games, and this week we made some great memories together. Whether it was sitting on the patio on a gorgeous day or inside during the heavy rainfall, it was pure joy. Five years old is such a sweet age where you see them evolve into the next step of their development. Teaching her how to shuffle cards, think strategically, and be a good winner or loser was awesome. Watching her little face light up with every new skill she learned was the highlight of my week.

Thinking back on these past four weeks, I’m reminded of how quickly time flies and how important it is to cherish each moment. Here’s to more healing, more coffee, and more unforgettable moments with loved ones in the weeks to come.
