Week Eight - Back on My Feet!
Hooray! After 6.5 weeks of being grounded by the doc, I’ve got the all-clear to slip back into my shoes and slowly hit the pavement. It feels amazing to be moving again after a summer spent lounging, eating, and drinking my way through BBQs, cottage time and summer gatherings.
First things first - I needed a massage. Nothing like a bit of kneading to get the blood flowing and wake up those muscles! Then, it was time for my first walk since summer began. Oh boy, that felt so good!
Looking back, I guess I could’ve done some sort of low-impact exercises like Pilates, Yoga, or even light Weightlifting, but instead, I chose the oh-so-comfy lazy route. And you know what? Six weeks of doing nothing was kind of nice since it aloud me to do other cool things and make some amazing memories with my family that I wouldn’t have otherwise. But now, I’m ready to get back into the groove with exercise, healthy eating and taking my daughter to the beach and the zoo.
The craziness is the reminder that until you can’t use a part of your body, you don’t really appreciate it. I've never broken a bone in my body until I awkwardly stepped on the last stair with a laundry basket—seriously, that last step is no joke! My fifth left metatarsal can vouch for that! I never even heard that word before ha!
With summer winding down, let’s take a breather and soak up the last of the season. September is around the corner, and with it, the usual hustle and bustle. So let’s enjoy these final weeks of summer, stay mindful of our mental and physical health, and get ready to tackle whatever comes next!
Catch you on the move!

Career Reflection:
With all the books, lessons, research, trainings, and workshops I’ve been diving into during my summer break, I’m realizing that my next step isn’t necessarily about making a specific career move. Instead, it’s more about figuring out what my next adventure will be. I’m still not sure what that is, but I am confident I will, in due time.
